Well, it was bound to happen. We had to have a safe place where we could talk privately about this issue of loving too much which I dare to define as giving more of ourselves away than we keep and then being disappointed from the fallout of the decisions we ourselves have made.
Usually this trait is characterized as being overly compassionate, going-along-to-get-along, self-sacrificing behavior. Decisions we make backfire and blow up in our faces. Many of our sentences, be they spoken or silent, begin thusly, "I thought he..." Seemingly this is weakness we have adopted but I ascertain that we are not at all weak, we simply need to redirect our energies. We need to learnto love ourselves and please ourselves. Selfish? I think not. I think its more a matter of self-preservation. And also, the only true way that we can love others. Dedicated to those of us who would do better.
